SHARJAH: Quetta Gladiators will look to extend their winning run when they take on Lahore Qalandars at the Sharjah Cricket Ground tonight.
Quetta are already through to the playoffs, along with Islamabad United who beat Multan Sultans to seal their place in the playoffs.
In eight matches so far, Sarfraz Ahmed’s XI has emerged victorious in five and lost three. With 10 points, Quetta are at second place, behind Islamabad (12 points).
Lahore Qalandars are already out of the race, but they will look to add some meaning to their PSL campaign with a third consecutive win tonight. After six straight defeats, Lahore beat Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings to add 4 points to their name.
In their last clash, on Feb 24, Quetta outclassed Lahore by 9 wickets.
Possible scenarios
The tournament is still open for three teams: Karachi, Multan and Peshawar. If Karachi manage to beat Zalmi tomorrow, then the line-up for the playoffs and eliminators will be completed, with Islamabad, Quetta, Multan and Karachi in the top four.
But, if Peshawar manage to beat Karachi, then Karachi and Multan will have to wait until Peshawar’s next match against Lahore on Friday.
If Peshawar win both of their remaining two games, they will move to the next playoffs, leaving Karachi and Multan to wait for the result of the last league match of PSL 3: Islamabad United vs Karachi Kings.
