The President of Pakistan Federation Baseball Syed Fakhar Ali Shah met US Consul General Karachi JoAnne Wagner in her office at US Consulate General Karachi. Muhammad Mohsin Khan Senior Vice President PFB/President Sindh Baseball Association, Fakhar Amir Kazmi Legal Advisor PFB and Baseball Coach from Karachi Mr. Shahid Aftab were also present on the occasion.
Miss Suzan Ras Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer US Consulate General Karachi welcomes Syed Fakhar Ali Shah and other officials of Pakistan Federation Baseball.
Syed Fakhar Ali Shah briefed US Consul General regarding the efforts of Pakistan Federation Baseball for the development and promotion of baseball in Pakistan.
Syed Fakhar Ali Shah said that US Consulate General Karachi can play a role of bridge between Pakistan Federation Baseball and Major League Baseball. The target of Pakistan Federation Baseball is to include at least one player in MLB. Baseball is the national game of USA and the headquarter of MLB is also in USA, so improvement in relations between Pakistan Federation Baseball and US Consulate General/US Embassy can play a key role.
Speaking further, Syed Fakhar Ali Shah said that relations can be improved through Sports Diplomacy.
Syed Fakhar Ali Shah told the Consul General that Pakistan’s Senior Baseball Team had also participated in the World Baseball Classic Qualifier 2016 in New York USA, and American Media and Major League Baseball players and officials appreciated the capabilities of Pakistani players.
Syed Fakhr Ali Shah hoped that in the future Pakistan Baseball would have a useful impact of this meeting. Pakistan Federation Baseball is interested to get the services of American coaches for the development of baseball in Pakistan.
