ISLAMABAD: Cricket peers of all-rounder Imad Wasim as well as some leaders of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) attended the cricketer’s valima ceremony here in the federal capital, Geo News reported.
Among the politicians in attendance at Imad Wasim’s valima were Prime Minister Imran Khan’s special assistant on political affairs, Naeemul Haque, senior PTI leader Babar Awan, former finance minister Asad Umar, and Senator Faisal Javed Khan. An invite to the PM had also sent out.
On the other hand, Imad Wasim’s fellow cricketers, Yasir Shah, Umar Amin, Umar Gul, and Ahmed Shehzad were also present at the joyous event.
Imad Wasim became the second Pakistani cricketer after Hassan Ali to tie the knot this week. His nikkah to British-Pakistani Sannia Ashfaq was held on Saturday at Islamabad’s Faisal Mosque.
Imad Wasim and Sannia Ashfaq first met in the UK.
