Islamabad:(December 3) is marked as International Day of Persons with Disabilities, it is an international observance promoted by the United Nations since 1992.
PBCC to observe that International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Pakistan Blind Cricket Council conducted “Exhibition T-10 Blind Cricket Match” between Rawalpindi-Islamabad Sports Journalists Association (RISJA) and Islamabad Cricket Club of the Blind (ICCB) at Bhutto Cricket Ground G-7 Markez Islamabad.
The purpose to conduct the “Exhibition Match” on that day is to promote the understanding of disability issues, social needs and emphasizing the necessity of their equal participation in Sports, leading to social integration and healthy society.
RISJA won the toss and decided to bat first. In allotted 10 overs RIJSA scored 67 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. The Captain Afzal Javed was the highest scorer with 13 runs and Waseem made 9 runs.
Islamabad chased the target of 68 runs in just 5.1 overs for the loss of 1 wicket. Anees Javed remained unbeaten on 51* runs off 20 balls. Akmal was the only batsman to be dismissed on 3 runs. He was bowled by Samar Abbas.

Mr. Qasim Khan Suri, Deputy Speaker National Assembly was the Chief Guest of the occasion.
Syed Sultan Shah Chairman PBCC in his post-match address thanked RISJA for this solidarity match to mark IDPD and said that “PBCC is using “Sports” as a strong and effective tool to develop their leadership abilities and to promote participation in sports, cultural and social integration. A tool for the empowerment of persons with visual impairment for inclusive, equitable and sustainable development.”
Mr. Qasim Khan Suri, Deputy Speaker appreciated the efforts and achievements of PBCC and said that Govt of Pakistan is taking steps for the betterment and empowerment of Person with Disabilities.
