Lahore:The number of Test series matches between Pakistan and England in July this year is likely to increase.

According to media reports, in case of cancellation of England’s series against West Indies, the matches against Pakistan could be extended and the number of Test matches between the two teams could be increased from 4 to 5.

Sources said that in case of 4 Test matches instead of 3, the series will start from July 24 in Birmingham.

According to sources, a video conference meeting between Pakistan Cricket Board and England Cricket Board officials will be held on May 15.

Board sources said that the PCB would review all precautionary measures and the situation before the visit to England, while guidelines would also be sought from the government regarding the visit.

Sources said that nothing is final yet regarding the options of the series, both the boards will soon consider the issues regarding the series.

On the other hand, the West Indies Cricket Board is hesitant about the tour of England and it has to play a series of 3 Test matches against England.

The English Cricket Board is trying to hold closed-door cricket in two places.

It may be recalled that the Pakistan cricket team is scheduled to visit England in July this year where it has to play a series of 3 Tests and 3 T20 matches.

However, in view of the worldwide corona virus, nothing can be said definitively about the series.

The Pakistan cricket team’s tour of the Netherlands has also been postponed due to the corona virus. The three one-day series between the two teams were to be played on July 4, 7 and 9 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
