World Badminton decides to restructure the international calendar

kuala lumpur:The International Badminton Federation has decided to reshape the calendar of this year’s World, Asian and European Championships. Many events had been postponed since mid-March after the corona virus. However, international travel restrictions are complicating rescheduling.

Badminton World Federation Secretary-General Thomas Lund said a new announcement on the 2020 calendar is expected soon, with Corona affecting major events such as the Thomas and Ober Cup, the De facto Men’s and Women’s World Team Championships. Travel restrictions and lockdowns kept the players under house arrest.
