Islamabad:Former national cricket team captain Wasim Akram is celebrating his 54th birthday today. On this occasion, the International Cricket Council (ICC) sent messages of good wishes to him. Former Pakistan national cricket team captain and fast bowler Wasim Akram was born on June 3, 1966 in Lahore. He graduated from Government Islamia College, Lahore. He is considered to be the best left-arm bowler in the world.
He took 414 wickets in 104 Test matches, played a total of 356 ODIs in which he took 502 wickets. Wasim Akram is the highest wicket-taker in ODI cricket matches. He became the first bowler in the world to complete his fifth century of wickets in the 2003 World Cup. Wasim Akram’s bowling in the 1992 World Cup final won the Pakistan title . Wasim Akram is now associated with the Karachi Kings as president, and is also a member of the PCB cricket committee.
