Former national captain Rameez Raja has advised chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq to change his mind about the selection, saying that a policy of relying on old faces alone cannot guarantee success.
According to media reports, Rameez Raja gave Misbah-ul-Haq a score of 5 out of 10 on the selected squad for the England tour on his YouTube channel. He said that he did a good job by selecting Haider Ali and Khushdal Shah He also selected the old faces because he probably thinks that without them the T20 World Cup cannot be won.
The commentator said that unfortunately the chief selector conveyed the same thought to captain Babar Azam and explained to him that he could not have won the T20 World Cup without Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez even though only to win the title in the mega event. Experience will be insufficient.
Rameez Raja said that in the last ten years in ICC events, Shoaib Malik has played 25 matches without a half-century while Muhammad Hafeez, despite being a good all-rounder, could not maintain his form in international cricket.
