The first phase of the virtual talent hunt program of Lahore Qalandars, the most popular and dynamic franchise of Pakistan Super League (PSL), has been completed.
The coaching panel headed by Director Aqib Javed completed the selection of 128 players while 16 players were also selected in the 8th week.
Anas Mahmood, Sikandar Khan, Saeem Ayaz and Mir Saeed are among the four batsmen selected, Asim Ali, Saif-ur-Rehman, Rashid Khan and Mohammad Waqar are among the four fast bowlers while Adnan Jan, Ali Manzoor, Haider Raza and Najam Naseer are among the four spinners. Ali Shan, Haseebullah, Mohammad Aoun and Ali Nasir have been selected as the 4 wicket keepers.
Director Lahore Qalandars Aqib Javed says that he is very happy that the first phase of Qalandar’s Sikandar has been completed. He is satisfied that good talent has also emerged in the virtual program.
He said that now it would take 6 weeks for shortlisting of four cricketers in each category and a total of 16 cricketers would be shortlisted.
Cricket fans will also be able to vote on the Lahore Qalandars social media page and videos of selected cricketers will be available on social media.
Aqib Javed said that the selected cricketers will be included in the draft of the double wicket tournament. Lahore Qalandars are planning to hold the double wicket tournament in September.
Lahore Qalandars CEO Atif Rana said that like other programs of Lahore Qalandars, Qalandar’s Sikandar is also succeeding and the best talent came out in the first phase so the second phase will also be interesting.
He said that not only from Pakistan but also from abroad youths have sent videos while youths from 12 countries besides Pakistan have also been selected in Qalandars’ Alexander.
