Peshawar:Fast bowler Junaid Khan says that it is not sad not to get a central contract. It is a pity not to be selected in the team, I was disappointed this time too when my name did not appear in the 29 players for the tour of England.
Junaid Khan, a 30-year-old left-arm fast bowler, started his international career in 2011 and remained a permanent part of the Pakistan team until 2015, but after that he got injured and then a series of in-outs started in the Pakistan team.
Junaid Khan has represented Pakistan in 22 Tests, 76 ODIs and 9 T20I matches.
Junaid Khan says that my performance in England has always been good and it is clear from the statistics that the experience of playing in England is more than all the bowlers but still I was not selected.
Junaid Khan says that the if quality of selection is performance in England, so my performance is the best, I have played most county cricket among the players in the Pakistan team.
If my performance in England was to be judged, I should have been part of the team, it hurts but I will work harder and try to impress the selectors.
Junaid Khan said that it is not a pity that he did not get a central contract because I have played in the Pakistan team even though I was not in the contract before. It is not a problem.
Junaid Khan said that i got injured in 2015 and that’s part of the game,He has never been part of a team since returning from injury but Performed well whenever he was part of the team
Junaid Khan said that in-outs increases the pressure. You put extra effort in trying to perform well in every match which increases the risk of injury.
Junaid Khan said that the arrival of young fast bowlers like Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi is welcome as it enhances the competitive atmosphere.
“I live in a village, so it’s easy to take care of social distances, I run around the fields and I have my own small academy in the village, where I train,” he added.
