Chief Executive of Pakistan Cricket Board Wasim Khan termed Pakistan’s series against England as challenging.
The Pakistan cricket team is currently in Derby and is conducting training sessions in addition to intra-squad matches, while the first Test of the three-match series against England will start on August 5 at Old Trafford Manchester.
Pakistan Cricket Board chief executive Wasim Khan says Pakistan’s series against England will not be easy as the England team has already played a series of three Test matches against the West Indies and the full match will be in practice. In comparison, our cricketers have not played cricket matches since March, they have only practiced, so I think this series will be challenging for Pakistan.
Wasim Khan said that the positive thing is that the Pakistani squad is working hard, the players are practicing well, matches and training sessions are going on first in Worcester and now in Derby, the coaching staff is also working hard with the players. I am hopeful that when the series starts, the Pakistan team will be fully prepared and successful.
Due to the corona virus, matches and training sessions in England are taking place in a bio-secure environment. Spectators are not allowed to watch the matches even in the England West Indies series. Matches are taking place at venues where there is a hotel facility inside the ground. Test matches are scheduled for Old Trafford, Manchester and Southampton.
The Pakistan team completed a 14-day quarantine in Worcester and stayed in a hotel on the ground. Similarly, in Derby, the team is staying in a hotel adjacent to the ground which is a three star hotel due to which the team was asked to compromise in England. Has been living in less facilities.
Chief Executive Wasim Khan said that not every ground has five star hotels, we have to see if the basic facilities are available or not, all the basic facilities have been provided to the cricketers in Worcester and Derby, they Indoor games have been facilitated, all this is not ideal but also see that the current situation is not ideal, when the situation improves, the players will return to the five star hotels.
