Azhar Mahmood to coach English cricket team

Former Pakistan cricket team bowling coach and former Pakistani all-rounder Azhar Mahmood has joined the coaching setup of the English cricket team, his first assignment is England’s T20 series against Pakistan.

According to the English Cricket Board, Azhar Mahmood will be part of England’s coaching staff for the three-match T20 series in Manchester starting August 28. He will be assisted by bowling coach John Lewis during the series.

According to the ECB, his appointment is currently for the series against Pakistan, the future will be decided in the next series.

Azhar Mahmood, who has represented Pakistan in 143 ODIs and 21 Tests, has been the bowling coach of the Pakistan team from 2016 to 2019.
