KARACHI: The First Ever award ceremony in honor of the players and officials (heroes) who secured positions in the Sindh Games organized by the Sindh Games Association was held at the Merit Hotel Karachi for the Karachi Region.
118 players and officials associated with various sports were awarded with the award along with 19 sports journalists Obaid Awan, Reshad Mahmood, Irshad Ali, Nadira Mushtaq Syed, Shakeel Yamin Kanga, Aibadullah, Ali Hassan, Mahmood Riaz, Zahid Ghaffar. Imran Sad Yaqi, Ishaq Baloch, Badi-uz-Zaman, Ehsan Khan, Zeeshan Khan, Khidr Ahmed and Raees Khan were also honored with the award, along with Guinness Book of World Records holders Fatima Nasreen and Mohammad Rashid.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the national anthem followed by the best performance of gymnastics and yoga by young children.
The Chief Guest of the function was Mrs. Saima Nadeem, Parliamentary Secretary, Inter-Provincial Coordination (Sports), Government of Pakistan. Who gave awards to athletes, officials and sports journalists. Expressing his views on the occasion, she said that the Government of Pakistan and the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordinator(IPC) and Pakistan Sports Board have always been and will continue to encourage athletes and sports associations and federations and the Government of Pakistan and Pakistan Sports Board Cash prizes were awarded to the players who won medals in the recent SAF Games. She congratulated all the award winning players, officials and sports journals as well as the efforts of Sindh Games Association and congratulated them and said that this award ceremony was to be held in six major cities of Sindh.
The players will be encouraged which will increase the trend of sports in the coming generations and the players of Sindh will benefit from this and make Pakistan and Sindh famous at national and international level. She added that Sindh has also won the most medals for Pakistan in the last SAF Games. Members of National Assembly Osama Qadri, DIG Tahir Naveed, Mohammad Talib, Imam Bakhsh Baloch, Dr. Basit Ansari, Mohammad Aslam Sultani, Muqeemuddin, Shoaib Siddiqui, Abdul Waheed Soomro and Vijay Hussain were present on the occasion as Guest of Honor. ۔
Mudassar Arain, Sohail Anwar, Najam Khan, Saeed Ahmad Arain, Saleem Paracha, Muhammad Iqbal, Arghoman Muqeem, Sarfraz Abid, Humaira Khan, Sadia Khan, Muhammad Ashfaq, Nasir Moin Usmani, Maqbool Ahmad Arain, Masood Akhtar Arain, Amir Kifayat, Ayesha Arain, Rehana Bhatti were also present on the occasion.
This event was hosted by South Asian Gold Medalist, Queen of Track and Field Naseem Hameed and Olympian Syed Sameer Hussain.
