Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Syed Asif Ali Shah Memorial Table Tennis Championship.

ABBOTTABAD: The men and women table tennis players of district Abbottabad and Peshawar have qualified for the final round of 3rd All Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Syed Asif Ali Shah Memorial Table Tennis Championship.

In the first semi final match of women team event. Iqra Rahman, Ume Haleema and Huria Hamim of Peshawar defeated thier opponent Maryum, Sanam and Sadaf of D.I Khan while in the second semi final match Shomaila , Komal, and Nimra of Abbottabad smashed the Swabi team players Haya Noor, Hiba Iqbal and Safeerah.

However, in men team event, the Abbottabad players Zahid, Sajid and Zeeshan won against the representatives of newly merged districts including Absar Ali, Fazal and Fahad by 3-1. In the second semi final match of men team event , Peshawar defeated Haripur team and qualified for the final. Earlier, in quarter final matches

Umam Khuwajah, Haseeb Khuwajah and Shayaan Farooq of Peshawar got success against Hanzalah, Asim Jan and Ramnan of Kohat. Similarly, in women single event, Laiba of Abbottabad got success against Adeena of Kohat by 2-0 while Syeda Aiena of Kohat defeated Haya Noor of Swabi by 2-1.Syeda Maryum of Peshawar smashed Komal of Abbottabad by 2-0, Hiba Iqbal of Swabi defeated Safeera of Swabi by 2-0 and qualified for the next round. All the matches were played at indoor hall of Ganj Ground Abbottabad under the auspices of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Table Tennis Association.

The men and women players on the occasion expressed their joys and said that organizing such kind of sports activities were very healthy for the players as well as for the promotion table tennis game.
