Pakistan Federation Baseball’s historic step and holding of baseball matches in the world’s highest place Gilgit-Baltistan

Keeping in view the vision of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan to promote tourism in Pakistan, the Pakistan Federation Baseball is working on the development of baseball in Gilgit-Baltistan. In this regard, a press conference was held at the National Hockey Stadium. President of Pakistan Federation Baseball Syed Fakhar Ali Shah addressed the conference.

Secretary General of the Federation Sheikh Mazhar Ahmed, Pakistan Baseball Team Captain Umair Imdad Bhatti and Pakistan Youth Baseball Team Captain Syed Ali Shah were also present.

Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, President Pakistan Federation Baseball, while talking to media said that Gilgit-Baltistan region is famous in all over the world for its tourism. Every year thousands of tourists from all over the world come here for tourism. Gilgit-Baltistan is the highest place in the world. For the first time in baseball history, the Pakistan Federation Baseball is going to hold baseball matches at this highest place in the world.
According to Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, Pakistan Federation Baseball is organizing the following activities regarding the development of baseball in Gilgit-Baltistan:
The first Gilgit-Baltistan Inter-District Baseball Championship will be held from October 29 to 30 in Skardu.
The National Baseball Academy in Skardu will be inaugurated on October 31. Pakistan Federation Baseball will provide equipment for the training of players.
An exhibition match of baseball between Pakistan Green and Pakistan White will be played on October 31 in Skardu. Players of Pakistan’s national baseball team will take part in this match.
The second baseball exhibition match between Pakistan Green and Pakistan White will be played on November 3 in Gilgit.
Pakistan Federation Baseball will organize a Baseball Coaching Course in Gilgit from November 3 to 4 under the supervision of qualified coaches for the training of Gilgit-Baltistan players and coaches. At the end of the course, participants will be given a certificate from the federation.
Syed Fakhar Ali Shah further said that Skardu is the highest place in the world and Pakistan Federation Baseball is taking a historic step by organizing baseball matches at such a height for the first time. Famous players of Pakistan National Baseball Team will take part in these competitions. He hoped that holding these events would go a long way in developing baseball in an area like Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, Covid-19 has affected sports activities all over the world. So it was a very difficult task to organize a sports event after the end of this epidemic but we are thankful to Happilac Paint and Capital Smart City for their support to hold these events in a befitting manner.
