PCB National under 19, three day match between Balochistan and Central Punjab played at KRL Cricket Stadium Rawalpindi on Wednesday 18th November. The valued match for the both team, ended in a draw at the crucial stage when Balochistan needed 2 wickets while Central Punjab require 22 runs as the battle reached to bad light.
It was all due to mismanagement of KRL sports administration as known the ground staff were not informed well before to prepare the pitch. KRL management showed negligence in this regard and ground staff were learnt to make ready the pitch just one day before the important match start which was not sufficient time, hence the match started after lunch on the first day which leftover the initial period of the match. It was really difficult to maintain pitch and fielding area in a short time keeping in view the previous rain. PCB keep aware the host ground 8-10 day before so KRL sports administration had well enough time to set the ground for the match which was not done.
Similarly on Friday the last day when match was in progress towards some decision, the KRL administration again showed a poor plan and the match did stop at 12.00 while there was more than enough time to offer Jumma prayer and like this they wasted nearly 80 minutes of both team due to security purpose. Amazingly KRL football staff were found to instruct PCB Match Referee to stop the match time to time which was against the discipline.
Cricket Board invest a huge amount to the organizing these matches but due to KRL poor management all efforts of the both team to win turned into vain. Both the team did not feel comfort about the ground too. PCB should take care in allotting the ground to incapable authorities who destroy the efforts of emerging stars as they are enthusiastic to perform their best to enter national team.
