The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has become the richest cricket board in the world.
According to Indian media reports, the BCCI’s revenue has increased significantly in recent years due to the sale of media rights to the Indian team, including bilateral Tests, ODIs and T20 matches played at home grounds.
According to Indian media, the BCCI had benefited a lot from the media rights of the Indian team in 2018-19, the board has now released the balance sheet for 2020.
The world’s richest cricket board earned Rs 828 crore from the media rights of the cricket team alone during the financial year 2018-19, which has not been given to any board till date.
BCCI’s official broadcaster Star India pays Rs 43.20 crore for every international match played in India.
During fiscal year 2018, the board hosted 22 international matches, including 7 Tests, 10 ODIs and five T20I matches.
