KARACHI: Due to Match winning half centuries from Sheraz Kashmiri and Hidayat Khan spurred Artugrul Sports to a 42-run victory over Quetta Gladiators in the final of the 4rth edition of Taiser twon Super League T-10 leage Cricket tournament at the Muhammad Muneer Barki Cricket Stadium Taiser town sector 54-A here on otherday.
Needing 146 runs for the title-decider on a batting paradise, Quetta Gladiators could only managed to finish 42 runs short of the 146-run target.
Earlier after being asked to bat first, Artugrul’s innings was entirely dominated by the right-handed Sheraz, who blasted 52 from just 15 balls with the aid of five sixes and three fours while Hidyat Khan made 50 off 33 balls with three sixes and four boundaries as winning side posted 145-6 in 10 overs..
Spinners Waheed Khan and Abdul Rehman grabbed two wickets each for 19 and 23 runs.
Muhammad Zubair was Quetta’s main run-getter with a 37-ball 48 that included three fours, and two sixes while Sheraz Khan’s 38 off 20 featured five sixes.
Muhammad Irfan captured three wickets only for 16 runs.
Sports Pattren & president Real State owner welfare assiciation Abdul Latif Nasir war and Anwar Barohi graced the final as the chief guest and distributed the prizes. In a brief speech, Chief guest lauded the efforts of the organisers Muhammad Zareen Khan for putting up a grand show for the 4rth consecutive year.
Artugrul Sports captain Nadeem Chandio received the winners’ trophy with cash award of Rs 30,000 with Quetta Gladiator captain Zaubair Khan picking up the runners-up trophy and Rs15,000.
Arif Malanga was declared the tournament’s best bowler and Zubair Khan as player of the tournament while Sheraz Kashmiri was nameed as man of the final.
Also present wer the Member council committee, Nawaz Khan Jadoon, Ataullah , Amir Malik, Qari Abdullah, tournament secretary Muhammad Zareen Khan, Assitant secretary Kifayatullah, Umpires Muhammad Farooq and Muhammad Aslam, scorer Ataullah Barki and athers.
