NBP T-20 Blind Cricket Trophy (Grade-2) to take place in Karachi from tomorrow

Karachi : Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) and National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) officials announced the schedule of the Blind Grade- 2 trophy during the joint press conference held at Karachi Press Club Karachi. The grade-2 league of the Blind T-20 trophy will begin from 8th till 12th February 2021 at Karachi. Tournament matches will be played at Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah Sports Complex, Karsaz & Afzaa Cricket Ground, Nagan Chowrangi.
Mr. Mirza Babur Baig (EVP CSR & SDD NBP), Syed Sultan Shah( Chairman PBCC), Syed Salman Bokhari Director Cricket Operations PBCC Mr. Salman Bukhari and Mr. Imran Ahmad Sheikh, Director Information and Co-ordination PBCC addressed the media.
Mr. Mirza Babar Baig said that “Cricket is venerated as passion in Pakistan, played far and widely . NBP appreciates the phenomenal achievements of the Pakistan Blind Cricket team on winning numerous International bilateral series and being two times World champions”.


He further added that, NBP has been keen in the promotion of Sports in Pakistan and have been funding the game development at grass-roots levels. Our support to blind cricket council will continue in future too.
Syed Sultan Shah, Chairman PBCC thanked National Bank of Pakistan for sponsoring one event of Blind Cricket every year, and said “their initiative help us promote to blind cricket all over the the country. He addressed that National Bank of Pakistan is sponsoring our Blind cricket for the past 11 years; we started this event with 4 teams and this edition is our largest domestic event of Blind Cricket as 16 Teams are participating in the event.” Our domestic structure has helped us produce some great players who took Pakistan to the victory stand. The tournament will be played following the complete Covid-19 SOPs said Sultan Shah.


Mr. Imran Ahmad Sheikh, Director Information and Co-ordination PBCC briefed media about the tournament qualifying. “NBP T-20 Blind Cricket trophy” Grade-2 leg of the event will begin first in Karachi from 8th to 12th February 2021, in which eight teams will compete for the trophy. Whereas, the Grade-1 will take place in Attock from 27th February to 3rd March 2021 comprising eight teams. Grade-2 Champion will be promoted to Grade-1” while last team on points table in Grade-1 will be relegated to Grade-2. The last Team on points table on Grade-2 will be eliminated from the next edition and Gilgit-Baltistan team will make their debut participation.
Mr. Junaid Iqbal Officer (CSRD) NBP and Mr. Asif Azeem, Media Advisor, Pakistan Olympics, were also present on the occasion.
The Captains of eight (8) participating teams named Karachi, Abbottabd, Hyderabad, Faisalabad, Multan, Quetta, Sargodha and Sheikhopura were also present there.
Officials of NBP and PBCC officially inaugurated the event and they along with Team Captains unveiled the tournament trophy.
