Sri Lanka has appointed former Australian cricketer and former head coach Tom Moody as director of cricket.
A statement from Cricket Sri Lanka said the technical advisory committee had recommended the appointment of 55-year-old Tom Modi as director of cricket based on his knowledge and experience of the cricket system.
A statement from the Sri Lankan board said that Modi would have to complete a 300-day assignment during his three-year tenure as a consultant.
Cricket Sri Lanka CEO Ashley de Silva says that Tom Modi has worked with the Sri Lanka Cricket Board in the past and he has given good results.
Tom Moody has been tasked with developing Sri Lanka’s Future Tour program, domestic tournament structure and players’ education, well-being and honing their skills.
Sri Lanka had reached the final of the Cricket World Cup in 2007 and Tom Modi was Sri Lanka’s head coach at the time.
