A matter of reality that any National Olympic Committee (NOC) can only be framed if a country exists on the globe otherwise no one can infer to have distinct existence of its NOC. Therefore POA can never be considered the supreme over Government of Pakistan or its institutions who are controlling the sports i.e. PSB or relevant ministry.
43 days passed to Tokyo Olympics, nation is worried about the future of sports in Pakistan. Absolutely the disgraceful performance of the athletes and especially by the authorities concern forced to sports lovers to blast about what is happening in Pakistan. Everyone is blaming to each other and none of the authorities taking responsibilities of substantial irregularities carried out in sending the national contingent to Japan.
In fact it is a tri mafia named as PSB, POA and Sports Federations enjoying hidden benefits since long and saving skins of each other. Everyone is a facilitator at its stage. These authorities feel that worthy federal minister IPC Dr. Fehmida Mirza is here for a specific period but our jobs are regular which will last till retirement so keep enjoys blame game.
According to POA that they are only communicator between IOC and the country while sports federations recommend athlete and PSB makes arrangements regarding any international tour and training camps. Question is why POA communicate wrong list of joy riders recommended by the sports federations? Further why PSB did not check that list which comprised on irrelevant peoples?
We can omit the recently appointed Director General PSB but if you check the past irregularities about Pakistani squad for international tour you will found that PSB staff is habitual to support loopholes. Here POA only support or accept those dummy sports federations who are like minded and they dislike the genuine sports persons, coaches and visionary personalities who are hurdles in their hidden benefits. POA and its pet federations also blackmail PSB threating that IOC may put ban on Pakistan for international participation. While IOC always supports to have good governance between the country and it’s NOC. IOC will never take a side of human trafficker sports federations who tour along with some genuine players. IOC will help a country to refrain the sports structure from such misdeeds if informed accordingly. Pakistani sports community and whole nation is glancing at the sportsman prime minister Imran Khan to take a lead to reshuffle the national sports structure in a better way.
Immediate action to be taken on Mahoor’s video viral comprised on racial statement against Pashtun players in Olympic Village which is a clear violation of IOC Athlete Commission Rule 50. Pashtun Tribe is honorable community of Pakistan. Her statement is totally unfair and considered to be uploaded with the consent of PBF Secretary Wajid Ali who was the only person with her at Olympic venue as an unjustified coach.
The background of the Mahor’s biased statement under Wajid’s presence could be a result as he is facing difficulties in Khyber Pakhtunkhaw province where genuine badminton association has been framed as per judgment of worthy courts. The fake association under the shadow of secretary PBF comprising on bogus clubs and districts are threw out. Here Wajid Ali played a sheep and wolf game and imposed a baseless ban on KP’s national badminton champions Murad Ali and Palwasha Bashir. Both have a marvelous winning record in male and female category with great respect in badminton Pakistan.
It is important to mention that in past Pakistan Cricket Board was not taking action on match fixer cricketers then ICC controlled it by stern action. Here PBF & POA both are silent hiding the case underpin the support of IOC. Secretary PBF doesn’t have idea what kind of racial discrimination has been developed that if not dealt on merit then might impact on Mahoor’s next tour to Peshawar in future then who will be responsible?
Wajid Ali himself does not possess clean history. He along with his three companions Raja Azher, Ahsan Qamar and Tahir Ishaq were caught by badminton World Federation (BWF) in 2010 regarding bogus entry case and fined US$ 250 each due to which Pakistan badminton federation remained under suspension for three years for international participation.
Further everyone is criticizing on unfit Najma Perveen the 200 m runner whose entry was taken aback by Athletic Federation but the communicator (POA) restore Najma’s participation with an unknown girl “Shagufta Noreen” deputing her as coach of Najma. Who is the facilitator of this irrelevant female? What is the story behind her tour to Japan? Investigation may reveal another type of shameful scandal. Wither PSB the governing body to control the sports doesn’t possess the powers to check the contingent list especially unconcern female?
The president weightlifting federation Hafiz Imran travelled Tokyo as the coach to help Talha Talib (weightlifter) on the expenses of PSB with the help of IOC communicator POA on the recommendation of federation. But later on he found absent on the occasion and was enjoying as the paid staff of the Olympic organizer during the weightlifting competition. He deceived the government of Pakistan has taken two tastes in one ticket. This practice should be stopped.
It is time to nip the evils in the bud with no mercy. Nation expect from the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan to do the same to bring the laurels in sports for Pakistan as per previous in the field of Hockey, Squash and Cricket.
