Islamabad: The PSF Junior Squash Circuit-1 organized by Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) from March 3 – 7 concluded here at Mushaf Squash Complex, Islamabad in style.
Sponsored by Combaxx Sports, the tournament comprised six categories including Boys U-11, 13, 15, 17, and U-19 along with Girls U-19s.
The finals of all age groups were played yesterday with great zeal as the players in action exhibited their talent in a great way.
Air Marshal Aamir Masood, Senior Vice President, PSF graced the closing ceremony as chief guest and distributed trophies and prize money to the players. Squash legend and Vice President, PSF, Mr Qamar Zaman, and President Punjab Squash Association Mr Noor Ul Amin Mengal, and Mr Zubair Macha, General Manager, Combaxx Sports also attended the ceremony.
The tournament carried prize money of rupees six lakh which was sponsored by Combaxx Sports, who have been regularly sponsoring sports events across the country on regular basis with a view to promoting sports at the grass-root level.
There were six categories in the event and each category carried prize money of one lakh. Besides, other expenses were also borne by Combaxx Sports.
In the final of the Boys U-11 category, Mr Huzaifa Shahid from Sindh beat Mr. M Fawad from PAF with a game score of 11-2, 11-3, 11-3.
In the final of Boys U-13 category, Nouman Khan from PAF beat Rehan Alamgir also from PAF with a game score of 11-6, 11-5, 11-7.
In the final of Boys U-15 category, Mr Azan Ali from Pak Army beat Mr Ibrahim Zeb from PAF with a game score of 9-11, 13-11, 11-3, 11-4.
In the final of Boys U-17 category, Abdullah Nawaz from PAF beat Zain Anwar from Punjab with a game score of 11-5, 11-1, 12-10.
In the final of Boys U-19 category, Muhammad Ashab Irfan from Punjab beat Muhammad Ammad from PAF with a game score of 11-3, 6-11, 10-12, 11-6 and 11-5.
In the final of Girls U-19 category, Ms Sana Bahadur from KPK beat Ms Mariam Malik from Sindh with a game score of 11-7, 9-11, 11-7, 11-3.
