Speaking after the match, Hayley Matthews said, “Everyone would pretty much know we didn’t get enough runs on the board, we definitely need to be doing better in that aspect. At the innings break, looking at the wicket and knowing it was quite slow and was holding a bit of turn in it. We knew we could have gone out there and defended the runs once we bowled in the right areas. We managed to that quite well but at the same time we definitely need to do much better with the bat if we are going to have any chance at this World Cup.”
West Indies Women will travel to Hamilton where they will take on Pakistan at Seddon Park on March 21 in a day/night encounter. First ball is at 2:00pm (March 20, 9:00pm Eastern Caribbean Time/ 8:00pm Jamaica Time).
