West Indies Women’s Assistant Coach, Corey Collymore said, “I think we’ve been struggling all tournament and it’s finally caught up with us, we didn’t bat well enough today. We haven’t had consistent performances from our batters, we’ve only had one player for each game getting scores. The reduced overs shouldn’t have mattered, we needed to put a score on the board and pressure the opposition. I don’t think we soaked the pressure up enough with the bat nor ball. We have one more game to go, we’ll sit and have a discussion. We’ll go into it with a positive mindset looking to win the game.”
West Indies Women will travel to Wellington where they will take on South Africa in their final group stage match at Basin Reserve on March 24, 11:00am (March 23, 6:00pm Eastern Caribbean Time/5pm Jamaica Time).
