Two-day International Films Festival 2022 got underway under the auspices of Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab and with the collaboration of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) at Alhamra Arts Council on Tuesday.
Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan was the chief guest on this occasion. Director Youth Affairs Syed Omair Hassan and other top officials were also present at the International Film Festival.
Talking on this occasion, Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan said the competitions of short duration films showcased the real talent of male and female university students of the country. “This Festival is a great opportunity for competent students to express their potential. It will further enhance the creativity of university students,” he added.
Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan further said that the exhibition of short duration films will prove to be a great inspiration for talented and promising youth of the province. “Youngsters can make their future bright in the field of movie-making by improving their creativity,” he said.
Male and female students of leading universities of the country exhibited their short duration films on the first day. More than 20 entries from abroad are also participating in the festival. Judges watched the short movies and will decide the winners and other top performers after watching their short duration films minutely.
On the opening day of the International Films Festival, a large number of spectators also watched the short duration movies. They also appreciated the creativity of male and female students belonging to top universities of the country.
