It was the first day without a morning session but there was just as much excitement. Britain’s Jake Wightman and Slovenia’s Kristjan Čeh both beat Olympic champions in their events, winning the men’s 1500m and discus respectively. The women’s high jump final saw an incredible battle between Australia’s Eleanor Patterson, Ukraine’s Yaroslava Mahuchikh and Italy’s Elena Vallortigara, with Patterson coming out on top to bring home a well-deserved gold.
The electricity in the air during the afternoon’s 200m semifinals, which left us eagerly anticipating Thursday’s finals, exploded when Brazil’s Alison dos Santos was crowned world 400m hurdles champion.
We’re halfway through and we can’t wait for what’s coming. Bring it on!
