Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi inaugurates historic grand finale of Garena Free Fire ‘Soobai’ Series

LAHORE (July 31, 2022): Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi inaugurated first ever grand finale of Garena Free Fire ‘Soobai’ Series at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall on Sunday.

 

Director Sports Nadeem Qaiser, Director Youth Affairs Syed Omair Hasan, Deputy Director Tariq Wattoo, Administrator NPSC Gymnasium Hall Mustfa Shah, Lead of Pakistan Free Fire Esports Hamza Hashwani, PR Media Falak Gondal and other officials were also present on this occasion. Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi was warmly received upon reaching at the event held under the auspices of Sports Board Punjab.

 

Sports Board Punjab and Garena Sports signed an MoU for the promotion of Esports among the young generation of the province. Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi and Falak Gondal of Garena Free Fire Esports signed the MoU documents.

A large number of Esports lovers were there to witness exciting competitions of Garena Free Fire ‘Soobai’ Series grand finale. The Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall was decorated with eye-catching lights for the holding of grand event.

 

As many as 48 players of 12 teams namely Ring Leaders, Janbaz, Believers, All Stars, New Era, ARG Official, The Guardians, No Mercy, Alpha, Xenon Esports, Ready to Fight and Quetta Stabbers from all four provinces are participating in the grand finale of Garena Free Fire Soobai Series. Four teams from Punjab, three teams each from Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and two teams from Balochistan are in action during the memorable Esports activity.

 

Talking to media on this occasion, Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said definitely hosting grand finale of Garena Free Fire ‘Soobai’ Series is a historic day and a huge amount of Rs 40 lakh will be distributed among the top performers of the event.

 

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said Esports is highly popular in the world and it is the best way to engage our youth in healthy and positive activity. “The young generation is taking keen interest in Esports. It is modern sports which cannot be ignored. Esports helps a lot in improving the IT skills of young girls and boys,” he added.

 

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi further said that the game of Esports has been approved for inclusion in 2024 Olympic Games. “Sports and Youth Affairs Department Punjab will now promote this game in an organized manner. We are also planning to include this game in our talent hunt programme,” he stressed.
