Karachi: Young talented Huzaifa Ibrahim unseded player , while exhibiting his brilliant squash talent, has won the title of the prestigious 3rd Combaxx Sports National Junior Squash Championship in style. He won the U-19 Category of this coveted four-day Championship organized at the Roshan Khan/Jahangir Khan Squash Championship.
The CEO of Combaxx Sports, Omar Saeed, was the chief guest along with Rehmat Ullah, Officer-In-Charge of the Pakistan Navy RK/JK Squash Complex, while Sarah Mir also graced the final ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Omar Saeed said Pakistan is rich in squash talent which can be gauged from the performance of the young upcoming players, what is needed is to provide them ample training opportunities on a modern level.
“For every sport to flourish the junior-level infrastructure needs to be very strong and efficient”, he said, adding our youth have immense talent in squash, which needs patronage at the grass-root level to uplift to the international level.”
He pledged that Combaxx Sports will continue to organize more such events in future as well to provide these young upcoming and extremely talented sportsmen with ample opportunities to shine, excel and represent Pakistan at the International level to regain lost glories for the country in squash.
Later, both Omar Saeed and Rehmat Ullah distributed trophies and awards among the winners and runners-up.
The following are different age categories results of the event:
- Boys Under 13: Noman (PAF) defeated Huzaifa Shahid (Sindh) by a set score of 3-1.
- Boys Under 15: Umair Arif (KPK) beat Azan Ali (Army)
- 3-2.
- Girls Under 19: Zainab Khan(Army) beat Mehwish Ali (KPK) 3-0.
- Boys Under 19: Huzaifa Ibrahim ( Sindh) beat Junaid Khan (Punjab) 3-0.
