LAHORE (Aug 1, 2022): RGA Official team comprising some exceptionally talented players won the historic grand finale of Garena Free Fire ‘Soobai’ Series at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall on Sunday night.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Asadullah Faiz was the chief guest at the largely-attended closing ceremony. He awarded the winners’ trophy to the RGA Official team amid boisterous celebration from the supporters of the victorious team. RGA Official team comprising Imran (captain), Rehman, Rana, Flash and Ahsan bagged a hefty cash prize of Rs 15 lakh for winning the coveted title. The award and cash prize of Rs 50,000 of Most Valuable Player (MVP) went to M Junaid for his outstanding performance in the event.
Director Sports Nadeem Qaiser, Director Youth Affairs Syed Omair Hasan, Deputy Director Tariq Wattoo, Administrator NPSC Gymnasium Hall Mustfa Shah, Lead of Pakistan Free Fire Esports Hamza Hashmani, PR and Communication Manager Falak Gondal and other officials were also present at the first-ever mega Esports event held under the auspices of Sports Board Punjab (SBP).
Talking to media on this occasion, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Asadullah Faiz appreciated the passion and nerve-wrecking fights of Garena Free Fire ‘Soobai’ Series grand finale. “Holding the grand event of Esports is a new experience for us and we are quite delighted to see the overwhelming passion and involvement of participating teams and Esports fans in the event,” he added.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Asadullah Faiz said Garena Free Fire Esports provided a suitable platform to a large number of youth to spend their energies and time in a purposeful activity. “Definitely, it is a nice effort of Garena Free Fire Esports and literally, they managed to protect thousands of youngsters from negative and useless activities”.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Asadullah Faiz also lauded Garena’s role in the promotion of Esports among the young generation of the country. “Participation in the Garena Free Fire Esports event is a big opportunity for talented youth of the country to demonstrate their potential in Esports. Besides being a great entertainment, Esports has also turned out to be a respectable source of earning for the youngsters of the country,” he added.
A huge number of Esports enthusiasts were present in the Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall to enjoy exciting fights of Garena Free Fire ‘Soobai’ Series grand finale.
Earlier, Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi inaugurated the first ever grand finale of Garena Free Fire ‘Soobai’ Series at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall on Sunday night.
Sports Board Punjab and Garena Sports also signed an MoU for the promotion of Esports among the young generation of the province. Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi and Falak Gondal of Garena Free Fire Esports signed and exchanged the MoU documents.
As many as 48 players of top 12 teams from all four provinces namely Ring Leaders, Janbaz, Believers, All Stars, New Era, RGA Official, The Guardians, No Mercy, Alpha, Xenon Esports, Ready to Fight and Quetta Stabbers participated in the grand finale of Garena Free Fire Soobai Series. Four teams from Punjab, three teams each from Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and two teams from Balochistan were in action during the mouthwatering Esports fights.
