Antwerp win their first-ever FIBA 3×3 World Tour Masters in Debrecen

DEBRECEN (Hungary) – Antwerp (BEL) won their first-ever 3×3 World Tour Masters at the Debrecen Masters on August 28, 2022.

The Belgian squad ended Ub Huishan NE’s four-event winning streak on the World Tour to conquer their first-ever World Tour Masters in Debrecen.

 

They became the first team out of Belgium to do it

Antwerp defeated the #1 team in the world in the final 22-20 on a Maurice Lacroix buzzer-beater courtesy of Thibaut Vervoort. The 24-year-old topped all scorers in the final with 9 points and was named MVP of the Debrecen Masters.

 

In the individual contests, Christophe Varidel  (Lausanne Sport, SUI), took home the Task Csoport Shoot-Out Contest, while Polish dunk legend Rafal “Lipek” Lipinski won the Leroy Cafe Dunk Contest.
