Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Taimoor Masood in a statement at the conclusion of 3rd Day’s events on Wednesday thanked Bank of Punjab for extending every kind of support for the successful holding of 73rd edition of Punjab Games.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Taimoor Masood said that the Sports and Youth Affairs Department Punjab is also going to launch a historic Sports Card for the welfare of male and female athletes of the province in collaboration with the Bank of Punjab.
Through Sports Card our sports stars can fulfill their needs in a respectful manner. “Definitely it is a revolutionary step for the wellbeing of national athletes and promotion of sports culture in the province,” he added.
He said: “The delegations from all the provinces of Pakistan are also participating in the historic Punjab Games and we are determined to promote unity, solidarity and brotherhood among all the provinces of the country. All sections of the society including transgender and special athletes are given due importance and representation in the 73rd Punjab Games”.
President and CEO Bank of Punjab Zafar Masud in a statement on Wednesday lauded the Sports and Youth Affairs Department Punjab and Sports Board Punjab for organizing Punjab Games at such a bigger level.
He announced that the Sports Card will be made more effective in future so that the maximum number of athletes can utilise this great facility. “Our cooperation with the Sports and Youth Affairs Department Punjab and Sports Board Punjab will continue in future as well for the holding of more such glorious sports events”.
The members of transgender community participated in 73rd Punjab Games 100m race, chati race, tug-of-war and long jump competitions at Punjab Stadium on Wednesday. As many as 90 members of transgender community participated in the sports competitions.
Divisional Sports Officer Tariq Khanzada, Deputy Director Chand Perveen, DSO Tanveer Shah, SBP PRO Abdul Rauf Roofi and other officials were also present on this occasion.
Sports lovers highly appreciated the performance of members of transgender community. The historic 73rd edition of Punjab Games are being organised under the banner of Sports Board Punjab and with the collaboration of Punjab Olympic Association (PbOA).
