Peshawar is going to host International Peace and Sport Conference. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Department, Bank of Khyber, AIPS Asia, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Writers Association have jointly organized a four-day International Peace and Sports Conference from 30th to 2nd November 2022.
Several journalists from around the globe are participating in the Conference. Asian Sports Journalists Federation President Hee Din Jung from Korea, Niranjan from Nepal, Awad Bin Mubarak from Saudi Arabia, Ramakrihnan Karuppaih from Sri Lanka, Izahar Atan from Malaysia, Eldar Ismayilov from Azerbaijan, Emmanuel Fantanean from Hungary, Anna Szilagyi from Hungary, Nargiz Mahmudzade from Europe, and Delegates from Afghanistan and other countries are participating in the conference.
Today here in Peshawar, the delegates of the international conference were given a tour of ancient and historical places of the walled city of Peshawar and District Khyber, including Bala Hisar Fort, Machni Fort, Khyber Rifles, ancient and historical Islamia College of Peshawar, and Sethi House.
At Khyber Rifle Mess the guests were entertained by traditional dances of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Mehsud dance, Khattak dance, Chitral dance, and the traditional Sitni dance. The guests not only enjoyed the traditional music and drum sounds, but they self-took part in the dance.
The President of the Asian Sports Journalists Federation, Hee Din Jang, said that “it was my second visit to Pakistan, While first to Peshawar, Earlier I came to Pakistan back in 2017”. He said that “Visiting Peshawar is a very nice experience. Especially the way the people here are very loving and hospitable. Unfortunately, this region has seen very hard times, but despite this, the people here are not discouraged they are braver and more respectful.” He further added that “People of Pakistan love sports and peace and the main objective of the International Peace and Sports Conference is bringing forward the positive, softer and peaceful face Peshawar and broadly from Pakistan to the entire world. It is my wish that by this conference Pakistan sports activities will be restored along with peace.
During the conference, different seminars will be arranged about the current position of different sports activities and the services of different countries in the fields of sports. And also throughout the visit of journalists, cultural activities will be arranged to paint the real picture of the traditional hospitality of the KP.
