Athletics , Archery and Football Players facing problem due to construction work in peshawar sports complex
Pesahwar , The National Games training camp for athletics, football, and archery players is facing difficulties due to ongoing reconstruction work at the Peshawar Sports Complex managed by the Provincial Sports Directorate.
The football ground, tartan track, and archery space are being raised four feet, with filling work initiated before Ramadan and still ongoing. Unfortunately, the practice facilities have been closed, leaving athletes with no place to practice for the upcoming games.
This lack of practice is expected to impact the performance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the National Games. Meanwhile, players from different departments, including a significant number of army players, continue to practice at the PAF ground in Peshawar Sadar. However, the province’s players have been unable to practice properly due to the pits at the Peshawar Sports Complex.
The Provincial Sports Directorate must address this issue urgently and provide adequate practice facilities for the athletes to resume their training.
Completing the reconstruction work as soon as possible will allow the athletes to practice and prepare for the National Games without further delays
