5 member committee will visit next week to check lala ayub hockey turf in peshawar
Peshawar.. A five-member committee is expected to arrive next week to check the newly laid astro-turf at the Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium in Peshawar by the Pakistan Sports Board, which includes four PSB members while the fifth member Syed Zahir Shah is the President of the Provincial Hockey Association.
This five-member committee will submit a detailed report to the PSB regarding the astro turf to be laid in Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium in Peshawar in December 2022. The provincial hockey association also has objections to this turf because wrinkles have started forming on this ground within four months, while the net behind the goal post has also started to deteriorate due to the impact of the hockey ball.
The base has also completely settled in some places while the turf has also started to rise. The iron pipes laid for the turf have been replaced by plastic pipes which cannot withstand high pressure water, as well as the sprinklers used for water. are also damaged, in which some have been repaired and installed while some have lost their color and now the contractor is trying to get the payment, but due to objections, the Pakistan Sports Board Headquarters Islamabad has established a five-member committee which will submit its report.
However, due to Ramadan, the five-member committee did not visit this place and now after the end of the Eid holidays, the five-member committee will visit Peshawar’s Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium to check the turf next week.
