Karate team selection camp for National Games kicks off in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Peshawar – The selection camp for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s karate team for the 34th National Games has commenced. The trials, held under the supervision of Shah Faisal at Hayatabad Sports Complex, were organized by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Karate Association.
The referees presiding over the trials included Irfan Nayab, an Asian Qualifier Referee, as well as Habibullah, Chaudhry Asim, Muhammad Tahir, Muhammad Sharif, Kamran Ali, Jamal Khan, Umair Ali, Farhan, Abdul Samad, Shen Gul, Amal Gul, and Nawab Ali.
Following the trials, the selected players were announced, including Abrar Khan in the 50 kg category, Murad Khan in the 55 kg category, Attaur Rahman in the 60 kg category, Ibtisam in the 67 kg category, Mohammad Riaz in the 75 kg category, Zahid Khan in the 84 kg category, and Umar Afridi in the overweight category.
In the female karate team, Maleeha was selected in the 45 kg category, Iza in the 55 kg category, Iqra in the 55 kg category, Nazia Ali in the 61 kg category, Areba in the 68 kg category, and Alishba in the more than 68 kg category. Maleeha was also selected in the individual kata.
The camp for the selected players commenced on May 3. The trials and selection camp have generated buzz and excitement among the sports community in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with enthusiasts eagerly anticipating the performance of their favorite karate champions in the upcoming National Games.
