Archery camp and tournament will be organized in Peshawar, Sarfraz Khan

PESHAWAR : Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Archery Association has taken another big step for the development of archery in the province,

it has been decided to organize a training camp and inter-colleges archery championship in Peshawar for the promotion of archery including men and women. The purpose of which is to find female archers and bring them forward.

These views were expressed by Sarfraz Khan, Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Archery Association and Level Two Internationally Qualified Archery Coach Sarfraz Khan while talking to the media at the closing ceremony of the Coaching Refresher Course at PSB Coaching Center Peshawar organized by Pakistan Sports Board yesterday.

He said that archery is one of the ancient sports. In the beginning, archery was used as a weapon in hunting and wars, and now in this modern age,

archery has been introduced as a sport and as the world As science and technology progressed, the games of ancient times either died out or they were no longer fun.

The situation regarding sports in Pakistan is such that obstacles are being placed in the way of those who love sports and want to work for its development, however, archery in educational institutions in Peshawar and various districts of the province.

Efforts are being made at the association level to promote the game. He said that Qaim Archery Club established in Hayatabad Sports Complex Peshawar has produced many talented players in a short period of time who have participated in various national and provincial level competitions and won medals.

Sarfraz said that women athletes will be trained in the best environment in different educational institutions of Peshawar.

 

It is hoped that talented women archers will also come forward like men, he said that there is enough talent of this sport in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and God willing, they will not let this talent go to waste, to carry forward the mission of organizing the training camp. There will be female archers who will give ample opportunities. In response to a question, Provincial Archery Association Secretary and International Level Two Qualified Coach Sarfaraz said that he is an international coach but still a person should learn continuously and PSB refresher coaching course is also important.
