Delay in Inspection: PSB Committee Yet to Check New Turf at Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium
Peshawar… The five-member committee appointed by the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and Coaching Center to inspect the newly laid turf at Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium, within the Provincial Sports Directorate, has not conducted a visit even after four months since its formation.
The inspection was supposed to cover the hockey turf’s base, surface, sprinklers, and the installation of non-standard barriers behind the goal post, which had raised concerns.
The Pakistan Sports Board formed this committee before Ramadan, but surprisingly, there has been no progress to date. No visit has been made to Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium, and consequently, no report has been prepared regarding the alleged non-standard work.
Sources from the PSB have confirmed that payments have already been made to the contractor for the new turf, possibly leading to a lack of concern on the contractor’s part regarding the quality of work at Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium.
