In Peshawar, the hockey turf at Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium, managed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate, is facing watering problems due to low voltage electricity. Reports indicate that water is reaching only half of the turf, while the other half remains dry.
Officials stationed at the turf are being compelled to water it using pipes provided by the Pakistan Sports Board through the contractor. Approximately six months ago, the construction of this ground was completed after a year-long period.
The availability of water is crucial for the hockey turf, and sprinklers have been installed to facilitate this. However, due to the insufficient water supply, the ground remains dry, resulting in difficulties for players.
The officials at Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium in Peshawar now have no choice but to resort to watering the grounds manually through water pipes.
