PeshawarFootballPlayers Struggle Amid Equipment Shortages at Shah Tahmas Stadium
Football players at the District Sports Office Peshawar are facing significant challenges. Despite the presence of football academies, they are struggling to acquire the necessary equipment essential for effective training.
Approximately 150 athletes from various age groups undergo training at this facility. While they dutifully pay admission and monthly fees to the DSO Peshawar office, they are not provided with footballs to facilitate their practice sessions. Consequently, each player is compelled to bring their own football for training purposes.
Additionally, the absence of permanent coach compounds their difficulties, as they rely on a daily-wage coach for daily training sessions, which is also causing issues related to their payment.
It’s worth highlighting that the District Sports Office is under the supervision of the Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and it receives only five percent of the budget allocated at the district level. In a city like Peshawar, access to footballs for players remains a concern.
