In the pool matches at the Asian Games, India defeated Pakistan by ten goals to two. The Indian hockey team has qualified for the semi-finals of the Asian Games, while the decisive match between Pakistan and Japan to reach the semi-finals is still to be played on October 2.

The Indian hockey team, which is ranked third in the world ranking,

scored two goals in the first quarter of the game against the Pakistan hockey team, which is ranked 15th in the world ranking. In the first 8 minutes of the match, Mandeep Singh secured the initial field goal for India, granting them an early advantage. Subsequently,

in the 11th and 17th minutes, Harmanpreet Singh further solidified India’s position, finding the net from penalty corners. Sumit added to India’s tally with a fourth goal, expertly netted in the 30th minute of play.

As the match progressed into the third quarter, Harmanpreet Singh showcased his penalty corner prowess once again, scoring in the 33rd and 34th minutes, affirming India’s dominance on the scoreboard. In the 38th minute of the game,

Muhammad Sufiyan Khan netted a crucial goal for Pakistan via a penalty corner. Just three minutes later, Varun Kumar of India demonstrated his prowess with a well-executed field goal in the 41st minute. However, Pakistan swiftly retaliated, securing their second goal in the 45th minute through Rana Abdul waheed via another penalty corner.

India continued to battle fiercely, with Shamsher Singh notching their eighth goal in the 46th minute. Lalit Kumar of India showcased his skills with a field goal in the 49th minute, further solidifying India’s position.

Varun Kumar stepped up once again for India, sealing their victory with a goal through a penalty corner in the 54th minute.

In a crucial fixture, the Pakistan hockey team is set to face off against Japan in their fifth and final pool match on October 2 at 15:30 PM Pakistan time. The Asian Games hockey competitions witness the participation of twelve teams, categorized into two pools. Pool A comprises teams from India, Japan,
