After making the highest score in the history of the World Cup, South Africa scored 428 runs and dismissed Sri Lanka for 326 runs in the 45th over to win the match by 102 runs.

In the fourth match of the World Cup played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Sri Lanka won the toss and invited South Africa to bat first.
