Afghanistan upset defending champions England by 69 runs

In the 13th match of the World Cup, Afghanistan defeated the defending champion England and caused the first major upset of the event.
In the match played in Delhi, England won the toss and decided to field, the Afghan team returned to the pavilion after scoring 284 runs in 49.5 overs.
Chasing the target, the English team was bowled out for 215 runs, thus Afghanistan defeated the defending champions by 69 runs in the mega event.
After New Zealand, England were also defeated by Afghanistan in the World Cup, after which the journey ahead for the defending champions in the event became difficult.
Harry Brooks 66, David Mullan 32 and Adil Rashid were the prominent batsmen with 20 runs from the English team against Afghanistan.
No other player from England’s side could show sufficient performance, so the whole team returned to the pavilion in 40.3 overs.
Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan and Mujeebur Rehman took 3 and 3 wickets while Mohammad Nabi took 2 wickets.
In the first innings, Afghanistan scored 284 runs in 49.5 overs, Rahmanullah Garbaz scored 80 runs, Akram Ali Khel scored 58 runs, Ibrahim Zadran and Mujibur Rehman scored 28 runs, 28 runs and Rashid Khan scored 23 runs.
From England, Adil Rasheed took 3, Mark Wood dismissed 2 players, Joe Root, Livingstone, Topley took 1, 1 wickets while 2 Afghan batters were run out.
The Afghan openers gave the team a good start and gave an opening stand of 114 runs, but Ibrahim Zadran returned to the pavilion after scoring 28 runs. Afghan batsmen lost 2 more wickets with just 8 runs, Rahmat Shah proved to be the guest of 3 runs. Captain Hashmatullah Shahidi could only score 14 runs, Azmatullah Omarzai 19, Mohammad Nabi 9, Rashid Khan 23, Mujeebur Rahman 28. Afghan opener Rehmanullah Garbaz played an aggressive game and took the English bowlers by storm, scoring 80 off 58 balls with the help of 8 fours and 4 sixes, while Ikram Ali Khel played an innings of 58 runs with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes.
For England, Adil Rashid took 3 wickets, Mark Wood took 2 wickets while Liam Livingstone, Reece Topley and Joe Root took one wicket each.
It should be noted that the Pakistan cricket team has left for Bengaluru on a special plane from the Indian city of Ahmedabad. The Pakistan team will play its fourth match in the World Cup against Australia on October 20 in Bengaluru. In the World Cup, Pakistan team has won 2 out of 3 matches
