World Cup: Defending champion England defeated, India won by 100 runs

In the 29th match of the ICC World Cup 2023, India defeated England by 100 runs by showing excellent bowling. . In this match played in Lucknow, India had given a target of 230 runs to England, in response to which the English team was bowled out for 129 runs.

England won the toss and decided to bowl first against India. The Indian team was under pressure from the beginning of the English bowling in today’s match, the first 3 players returned to the pavilion for only 40 runs.

Shibman Gul 9, Virat Kohli zero and Suresh Iyer left the field after scoring 4 runs. After that, skipper Rohit Sharma along with KL Rahul slowly took the innings forward.

The two players put on a partnership of 91 runs, during which set-beater KL Rahul lost his wicket trying to play big short, he played 39 runs off 58 balls. Batsman captain Rohit Sharma was India’s fifth dismissal on a total of 164, who scored 87 runs off 101 balls to become the wicket of Adil Rashid. Ravindra Jadeja 8, Mohammad Shami 1 and Surya Kumar Yadav got out by scoring 49 runs from India, then 8 players of the team returned to the pavilion for only 208 runs.

On the last ball of the innings, Jasprit Bumrah was run out on an individual score of 16, so the Indian team could score only 229 runs for 9 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. From England, David Valley took 3,

Chris Woakes and Adil Rashid 2, 2 Indian players were dismissed. Both the teams have played 6 matches in this World Cup so far, India have won all their 6 matches while England have won only one match.
