World Cup: India defeated South Africa, ..Kohli equaled Tendulkar’s world record

In the 37th match of the World Cup, India defeated South Africa by 243 runs after a one-sided match. Kohli equaled Tendulkar’s record of 49 centuries in ODI matches.

In this match played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, the Indian captain won the toss and decided to bat first. Virat Kohli completed his 49th career century by playing an unbeaten innings of 101 runs off 121 balls while Shreyas Iyer was dismissed for 77 runs. India set South Africa a target of 327 runs to win, in pursuit of which the in-form South African team was bowled out for 83 runs.

Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer formed a brilliant partnership to lay the foundation for the big total. Mohammad Shami and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets each while Mohammad Siraj took one wicket. Virat Kohli was declared the man of the match for his brilliant century performance.

This is India’s eighth consecutive win in the event. With this victory, India is on the first position with 16 points while South Africa is second. It should be noted that both teams have already qualified for the semi-finals of the World Cup.

Virat Kohli, the famous batsman of the Indian cricket team, scored his 49th century on his 35th birthday and equaled the world record for scoring the most centuries. In the World Cup match against South Africa, Virat Kohli equaled the record of 49 centuries in ODI matches, he scored a century in 119 balls with the help of 10 fours.

Kohli scored his 49th career century against South Africa in his 289th match. He scored more than 13600 runs in 289 matches, including 49 centuries and 71 fifties. It should be noted that before him Sachin Tendulkar of India had made a record of scoring 49 centuries in 463 matches.

Sachin Tendulkar scored the most runs in ODIs with 18426 runs, including 49 centuries, 96 half-centuries. Virat Kohli, who scored his 49th century in ODI cricket, was named Man of the Match.
