Pakistan team’s World Cup campaign failed, return home from India

In Cricket World Cup 2023, Pakistan team is out of the semi-final race. New Zealand became the fourth team to qualify for the Final Four. Pakistan team will leave today to return home from India. Some players of the Pakistan team will reach Dubai from India this morning and some in the evening. Pakistan team players will take flight from Dubai to their respective cities.

In the last group match against England in Kokalta, the national team had to achieve a target of 338 runs in 6.4 overs in which they failed. Along with this, the Pakistan team is out of the World Cup, while the New Zealand team has reached the semi-finals.

The Indian team has reached the semi-finals with first, South Africa second, Australia third and New Zealand fourth. Accordingly, the first semi-final will be between India and New Zealand, while the second semi-final will be between South Africa and Australia.

The first semi-final of the World Cup will be played between India and New Zealand on November 15 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The second semi-final will be held on November 16 between South Africa and Australia at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

It should be noted that England also defeated Pakistan in the 44th match of the World Cup. The national team’s World Cup campaign ended in failure.

In the match played in Kolkata, England set a target of 338 runs to win Pakistan, in pursuit of which the national team was all out by scoring 244 runs. Opener Abdullah Shafiq was dismissed on the second ball. Fakhar Zaman stayed for just one run. Captain Babar Azam scored 38 runs, Muhammad Rizwan scored 36 runs and Saud Shakeel returned to the pavilion scoring 29 runs while Iftikhar Ahmed could score only 3 runs.

Pakistan’s seventh wicket fell on 150 runs in the form of Shadab Khan. Shadab was bowled by Adil Rashid for 4. Pakistan’s eighth wicket fell at 186 when Salman Ali Agha was dismissed for 51 in the 37th over. The ninth wicket fell in the form of Shaheen Afridi.

He scored 25 runs and was dismissed lbw off Atkinson. Haris Rauf and Muhammad Wasim Jr. made a partnership of 53 runs on the last wicket. Wasim played an unbeaten innings of 16 runs, Harris was dismissed for 35 runs,

with which Pakistan lost the match by 93 runs. On behalf of England, David Willey took 3 wickets while Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid and Gus Atkinson got two wickets each. The last wicket was taken by Chris Woakes.

In this match, England won the toss and decided to bat first. On behalf of England, David Mullan and Jonny Bairstow opened the innings and batting aggressively, the team’s score reached 82 runs in 13.3 overs, after which England’s first wicket fell.

Iftikhar Ahmed took the first wicket for Pakistan, David Mullan was caught out by Mohammad Rizwan for 31 runs. England’s second wicket fell for 108 runs in 18.2 overs when Jonny Bairstow was caught out for 59 off Haris Rauf.

A 132-run partnership between Ben Stokes and Joe Root for the third wicket took England to a big total. England suffered their third loss in the form of Ben Stokes when Stokes, who scored 84 runs, was bowled by Shaheen Afridi on the first ball of the 41st over for a total of 240.

After that, the Pakistani bowlers started taking wickets, but on the other hand, before losing their wickets, the English batsmen continued to score runs. Harry Brook scored 30, Jos Buttler scored 27, David Willey scored 15, Moeen Ali scored 8 while Chris Woakes remained unbeaten scoring 4 runs. The England team scored 337 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.

On behalf of Pakistan, Haris Rauf took three wickets while Mohammad Wasim and Shaheen Afridi took 2, 2 and Iftikhar Ahmed dismissed one player. England’s David Willey was named the man of the match.

Pakistan could win only 4 of their 9 matches in the World Cup. The national team ended the World Cup at the 5th position in the 50-over format for the second time in a row. With this win, England has qualified for the ICC Champions Trophy scheduled in Pakistan.
