Twitter messages of senior cricketers after Babar Azam’s resignation

After cricketer Babar Azam announced his resignation from the leadership of Test, ODI and T20, senior cricketers encouraged Babar Azam to make mountains of runs as a batsman and set many records in the future.
It may be recalled that Babar Azam resigned from the leadership of the three formats after the poor performance of the national team in the World Cup.
Babar Azam said on social networking website Twitter that today I am stepping down as the captain of Pakistan in all formats, it is a difficult decision but I think it is the right time for this decision.
Babar had said that I will continue to represent the team as a player in all three formats and will continue to support the new captain and the team with my experience. Shortly after his announcement, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced the captains of the Test and T20 teams.
The Pakistan Cricket Board appointed Shan Masood as the captain of Pakistan’s Test team while Shaheen Shah Afridi was appointed as the captain of the T20 team.
After Babar Azam announced his retirement from captaincy, former senior cricketers and fellow players encouraged Babar Azam and expressed their determination to score more runs in the future.
Commenting on Shaheen Shah Afridi’s T20 captaincy, former captain Wasim Akram said that he has been appointed captain only for T20, his record in PSL’s T20 format has been the best, he has served for two consecutive years. Has achieved success in PSL.’
Wasim Akram said that Shaheen Afridi’s name was doing rounds for the last 3 or 4 months for the T20 format.
Wasim Akram while giving an analysis on Babar Azam’s decision to give up the captaincy said, “We don’t want to lose Babar Azam as a batsman, he has been the number one cricketer in all formats.”
He said that mistakes have been made by Babar Azam as a captain, but his good deeds should not be ignored, everyone makes mistakes, no one does it intentionally.
Former cricketer Shoaib Malik said on Babar Azam’s decision to step down from the captaincy that ‘he has taken a decision at a very good time, he has stepped down from the captaincy, now he will focus on his batting and win matches for Pakistan.’
Shoaib Malik also revealed that ‘I had read somewhere that the board had stopped Babar Azam from resigning from Test cricket but Babar Azam had refused.’
Former cricketer Azhar Ali thanked Babar Azam for his services as a captain and said, ‘I am sure that this will not be your last chance to lead Pakistan, from every experience we learn something, now you only score so many runs. Enjoy making it, may God bless you, Amen’.
Former captain Shahid Afridi lauded Babar Azam’s services as a captain saying that he has inspired the next generation of cricketers with his leadership, talent and performance. ‘
Shaheen Shah Afridi fast bowler wrote that ‘Babar Azam under your exemplary leadership true teamwork and friendship with you is a matter of honor, your top leadership and commitment to team unity and success is admirable’ he added. “We are waiting for you to make more records as a batsman, God willing.”
National team batsman Muhammad Rizwan wrote that ‘Captain, you are the captain of hearts, you are definitely one of the greatest batsmen of Pakistan.’
He further wrote that ‘Your honesty, love, integrity, thoughts and efforts for Pakistan as a captain are remarkable.’
Tagging Babar Azam, fast bowler Naseem Shah wrote, “It is an honor for me to make my white-ball debut and play under your leadership. You have always stepped forward and taken the lead and made us all ‘one team, one.’ “Dream” is assured.
Naseem Shah further wrote that ‘Inshallah, we will see you breaking many records for Pakistan.’
All-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed wrote that it was an honor to represent Pakistan under your captaincy, during this period I have seen many successes and many failures, but your determination has always been high.
“We are waiting for you to score big for Pakistan,” he wrote.
Pakistan bowler Muhammad Wasim Jr wrote, ‘When you entered my room the night before my T20 debut to encourage and support me, that’s a moment I will always remember, for everything. Thank you captain.’ Former captain Muhammad Hafeez appreciated Babar Azam’s services to Pakistan cricket as captain and wrote, ‘Your determination to score maximum runs and play a role in winning matches is admirable, stay safe and Be happy.’.
All-rounder Shadab Khan wished Babar Azam well and also congratulated Shaheen Afridi on being appointed the captain of the T20 team and Shan Masood as the captain of the Test team.
