LAHORE: Pakistan Green has won the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Target Ball Gold Cup. According to details, the final match of the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Target Ball Gold Cup played under the auspices of Punjab Target Ball Association was played between Pakistan Green and Pakistan White teams at the Railway Stadium.
Pakistan Green team defeated Pakistan White team by 16 points in 11 matches due to the spectacular performance of Rana Waqar and won the final match. Rana Waqar scored 8 points for the winning team. Usman and Bilal scored four points each. Tauseef scored 4 points, Sami scored 3 and Jawad scored 2 points for Pakistan White.
Rana Waqar was adjudged player of the match for his outstanding performance. Barkat Khan and Haroon Ahmed were the match referees. At the end of the match, Chief Guest DS Pakistan Railways Lahore Division Muhammad Hanif Gul distributed prizes among the players, match officials and members of the organizing committee.
Other guests included Pakistan TargetBall Federation President Arif Mahmood Khan, Secretary General Nizamul Haq, Punjab Target Ball Association President Kanwal Khan, Syed Ijazul Hassan Shah, Kamran Dar, Naseer Ahmed, Nargis Khan, Asif Iqbal Khan, Zahid Iqbal Mirza, Farrukh Marghob, Shahbaz Kanwal, Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman and Secretary Information of Pakistan Sports Journalists Association Muhammad Qaiser Chohan.
The chairman of the organizing committee was Muhammad Akram, general secretary of The Punjab Target Ball Association, due to whose tireless work, it was possible to successfully organize the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Target Ball Gold Cup.
At the end of the match, Chief Guest DS Pakistan Railways Lahore Division Muhammad Hanif Gul said that there is an urgent need to settle playgrounds and attract youth to sports to save the young generation from drug menace and other social evils. The game of ball will get a boost.
