Softball Federation elections; Asif Azeem President, Dr. Farhan Essa SVP, and Yasmin Haider elected as Chairperson.
Karachi: In the Softball Federation of Pakistan elections, Asif Azeem was elected President and Naseem Khan was elected unopposed as Secretary General for the next four-year term.
In the general body meeting in connection with the election held in Karachi Gymkhana, the Chief Election Commissioner Syed Waseem Hashmi announced the names of the successful officials.
All the candidates were elected unopposed. On this occasion, Ahmed Ali Rajput participated as an observer on behalf of the Pakistan Olympic Association.
Among other elected officials, Professor Dr. Farhan Essa Abdullah was named Senior Vice President, Yasmin Hyder Chairperson, Farah Saeed, Tehmina Asif, Dr. Hina Jamshed Khan, Shahid Shinwari and Muzamil Hussain were declared successful as Vice Presidents.
Other elected include Joint Secretary Farhan Rashid, Secretary Finance Muhammad Zeeshan Merchant, Murad Hussain as Associate Secretary, Shahid Aftab Chairman Umpiring, Asim Khan as Chairman Coaching and Faraz Ejaz as Chairman Technical Committee.
Apart from this, Muhammad Nasir, Ahmed Yar Khan, Ali Haider and Raisa Farhan were elected as members of the Executive Committee. On this occasion, the House approved the minutes of the previous meeting and the calendar for the coming year.
In addition, the members unanimously approved the consideration for amendments to the Federation’s constitution about other important matters,
including the implementation of the principles of universal good governance of the International Olympic Committee, the implementation of the new reforms of the World Baseball Softball Confederation, and authorized the president of the federation to form a committee in this regard.
The newly elected president Asif Azeem and other officials paid tribute to the former president of the federation Haider Khan Lehri for his services to the development and promotion of softball.
