In the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 9, Islamabad United easily defeated Karachi Kings by 7 wickets.

In the match played in Karachi, Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan won the toss and invited Karachi Kings to bat first.
Karachi Kings scored 165 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, Kieron Pollard scored 48 runs off 28 balls and Irfan Khan Niazi remained unbeaten on 27 runs off 22 balls.
Apart from this, Shaun Masood scored 27 and Lewis Duploy scored 24 runs, Tim Seifert scored 8, Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Nawaz scored 6 and 6 runs respectively.
For Islamabad, Imad Wasim, Naseem Shah, Aghasalman and Haneen Shah took one wicket each.
Target pursuit
Karachi Kings’ target of 166 runs was easily achieved by Islamabad United at the loss of 3 wickets in the 19th over.
On behalf of Islamabad, opener Colin Munro 82 and Alex Hales played a brilliant innings of 47 runs, Imad Wasim was dismissed for zero. Apart from this, Agha Salman remained unbeaten with 25 runs and Shadab Khan with 10 runs
Hassan Ali, Tabriz Shamsi and Muhammad Nawaz took one wicket each from Karachi Kings.
It should be noted that two changes were made in the Islamabad United team for this match, Alex Hales and Roman Raees returned to the team.
On the other hand, three changes were made in the Karachi Kings team, James Vance, Mohammad Akhlaq and Daniel Sims were replaced by Tim Seyfard, du Ploy and Aamir Khan.
Karachi Kings’ James Vance and Daniel Sims were not part of the playing XI due to stomach problems.
It should be noted that Islamabad United have played 5 matches in the tournament so far, in which they have won 2 and lost 3.
On the other hand, Karachi Kings have played 4 matches, in which they have won 2 and lost 2.
