Rawalpindi… In the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Peshawar Zalmi defeated Multan Sultans by 4 runs after an interesting match. In the match played in Rawalpindi,
Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and decided to bat, once again Saeem Ayub and captain Babar Azam gave their team a brilliant start of 84 runs.
Saeem Ayub got out after scoring 46 runs off 22 balls, he hit five sixes and three fours. Babar Azam scored 64 runs off forty balls which included seven fours and two sixes.
Haseebullah Khan’s 31 runs and Romain Powell’s 23 runs also contributed to the team’s big target. Thus, Peshawar scored 204 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the scheduled overs.
Osama Mir of Multan Sultans took 3 wickets while Chris Jordan took 2 wickets. Chasing the big target, Multan got an opening partnership of 35,
after which wickets fell from time to time and their run rate was below the desired average and the entire team could only score 200 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted overs.
Multan’s Iftikhar Ahmed was the most successful batsman who scored 60 runs while adopting an aggressive style, but even his brilliant hitting could not win the team, while captain Muhammad Rizwan scored 32 runs.
Peshawar’s Aamir Jamal dismissed 2 while Mehran Mumtaz and Naveen ul Haq dismissed one player each.
